Proposal for expanding AWS
Brothers and Sisters,
On March 10, 2017 The EMS Unions met with FDNY and The Office of Collective Bargaining regarding and expansion of the pilot AWS initiative. The FDNY and The Office of Collective Bargaining provided he unions with positive feedback on the program. The unions tendered a proposal for expanding the AWS. The City needed time to review the operational as well as the administrative impact the expansion would have. We will be meeting on March 22, 2017 to discuss which locations, units and final details of the proposed expansion.
Payroll and pay stub issues were also discussed. At the unions instance The Office of Payroll Administration has created an interactive software program to assist members in calculating and understanding their paychecks. The interactive software program will be available on the intra-net in late March. In addition The Office of Payroll Administration has, at the union's instance, established a line item notation denoting all differential hours and amount paid on them. This line item should appear on the end of the March 24 payroll.
The final topic of discussion centered on our member's safety at counter terrorism and active shooter incidents. As we all know these incidents present a much higher level of danger. We will ensure our members receive the best training and safety equipment for their protection. The City will provide us with more information as we continue to discuss this important issue.
